Here are the final pictures of Bobbie's VW bug 10 years after that night in '62. For any who may have missed the story, here's the Readers Digest version. Bobbie and Kip met and got married. They gave the VW to Bobbie's little sis and she wrecked it going to Woodstock in '69. A kid takes the wrecked VW and builds it into this over a two year period in his high school shop class. Hope you enjoy!
This last photo shows how much of the original body is cut off! I'm such a weird-oh!

That came out great Alan! You're not any weirder than the rest of us here. I really like the shot with all the bikes in the background!

Sweet build, the shot with the other bikes makes me think of that movie "any which way but loose" for some reason

Alan you really did a fine job on this sir. Cool little engine, fine interior, love those springer forks and even little springs under the seat!!! Really like the other bikes too. Look like Harley's, I thought I was the only other bike rider/builder in here. praising-the-lord-smiley-emoticon

NICE job! I'da never thought to hack up a Bug, and put a set of springer forks on it (I too used to ride....)
NICE thought and carried out just as well......
NICE WORK man!
GAWD, I can see it already, the voting is gonna be a difficult one! My head is starting to hurt, already!

Man, I really liked the way it turned out, Alan. And you made it look so easy with those progress shots. I dont think I can do this on the first try. Great job.

I agree with Iceman. I wouldn't even want to try something like this and you did make it look easy. Just a great build Alan.

Thanks Joel, thanks D! It really wasn't too bad once I started building it. I did study the pieces for a few days to determined how to create it before making that first cut!
