WELL!!! Now i have seen it all, a Nascar with wood grain and carpet. You have done some nice touches there mate, and you have got to experiment on something .! Like the 20 000 year old ivory, but would look better on an old rod, just not that old. Some good ideas there for a future build i reckon Dennis, .

Nuthin' wrong with going 200 MPH in style! This is the only build I have used the Formica on but I went back and got a bag full of samples, they'll let you have all you want. I have used it for counter tops and sink tops on doll house furniture. It cuts easy and doesn't splinter or break. I am always thinking how I can use it again in another build. I have learned to round the edges so they blend into each other and look very real. I'll use it again.

Not really Ice. Those little samples are pretty light. It's a little heavier than a regular nascar build but not much.

Now this was definitely imagination at its finest! I build, and have built a lot of NASCAR kits, but this one takes the cake!
Nice work sir, especially the ivory cleaner - isn't that a kick!

Thanks Gardner. I think it's fun to try different things just to see what happens.

CC, You know how it is, you look at something and you don't see it for what it is, you see a car part. I don't see grommets when I look at them I see little velocity stacks! That's what I mean. I have a lot of scrap around from my knife days and I thought an ivory air cleaner would be different. I have Mammoth tooth also. Seriously beautiful stuff.

OK Dennis, what on earth did you use for the interior fresh air duct work? they look like flexible dryer vent tubes made from the bendable part of a drinking straw, but look smaller in diameter.....I like how that turned out! Never thought I'd see a Cry Baby Wallace car, with wood grain and carpet, no wonder he couldn't keep up with both father & Son Earnhardts....To much wood weight and wet shagg carpet in his cars! LOL

That's cute John. You liked that one didn't 'ya. The air ducts are some old tubing I took from some old clothes dryers in my neighbors back yard and put them in my D49X12 Space shrinker and pulled them down to 1/24. Took me 3 tries to get them that small. Worked though didn't it!

Yeah, I'ma turd, AND I know IT, ask my wife! LOL
Couldn't resist.....Was simply to easy! (And no, I'm not a big Nascar fan either, was a fan once), but, that was back when Dale Sr. was alive and driving the #3 car.....Lost interest after his Death tho....WAS ALWAYS A Petty Fan tho! Still am, just don't take an active part in it anymore, as Richard doesn't drive any more...Only Kyle does....
All joking aside....
That duct work tho, got me that looks GREAT! I mean, really, that looks as tho it was shrunk down from full size and the way you have it to hold its "shape" from the window vent to the place its feeding air, looks GREAT....

I'm just razzing you John. The ducts came with the kit. I just painted them and stuck 'em on.

WOW! I'da never in a million years thought those were factory model parts!
Back when I "DID" build model cars of Nascars, they never seemed to have details like that in them, and this is coming from a 20 plus year memory from the last one I did.....
You did some nice "detail painting" to that. NICE! I just could have swore it was a added detail, and not something that came with the kit.....

Cool use for those formica samples. Now you got me thinking, and that can be bad because I could get hurt at some point. Thanks for sharing, looks cool.
