You're moving right along there Speedy. All I have managed is getting it opened and oogling over the parts.

looking good so far, but slow down, you go too fast and the rules may change to one month for a build, running-around-smiley-emoticon
motor is looking great.

At least you have started mate, good thing it needs redoing early in the build ( if that's possible ) , could be worse, could need doing in the last week of the build .

Looking good! Make sure you spray that duplicolor first then the rustoleum, the duplicolor will lift if you spray the other way around.

I got my toes crossed for ya, definitely think the brown hood would be better than flat black - but I do k now your pain, I always have such great visions for my paint jobs, and usually end up saying the same as you, I have had it, it's gonna be flat black! LOL
But this sure is a sweet color combo!

I get a lot of people tell me the dark color should be on the bottom, personally I don't like it, I always put the dominant color on the top, like you have done, and I have never had one that looked wrong yet, just because some expert?? puts it in a book, so many people think its how it has to be done. Bugger the experts I always say, it's only their opinion.
Hope the hood turns out for you mate, it will really set it off in the brown.

I'm not really sure theres a rule for what color goes on top. If you like it on top, on the bottom or in between. It's your build. Great kits are a result of thinking outside the box anyways.
I think it looks great.
