I finished the Two Lane Blacktop Chevy today when I got home from work. As I looked at this finished project it occurred to me that I never would have built this if this web site didn't exist.First, I wouldn't have found a reason to get back into building the way that I have. Second, I would not have met such a fine bunch of model enthusiasts. And third, I would not have found all the bits and pieces need to build this the way I wanted to. So thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone here! You guys are the BEST! From Iceman and GrandpaBeast who started this site and run it tirelessly, to the people that are always here to help with finding parts when needed, or make suggestions, and of course all the wonderful people who give encouragement along the way! My hat is off to all you guys! high-five-smiley-emoticon two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon smileyCASHS601_zps1c54a9c5 smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f hand-clapping-smiley-emoticon Okay, enough with the rambling already! Here she is in true Two Lane Blacktop fashion.... ...The front... ...the side... ...the chassis.... ...the engine.... ...the interior....

Holy pizza slices, Batman!! You knocked this not out of the park, Alan! From the primed body to the engine to the front clip to the hood. I love it!
Thanks for the kind words but I think it's the opposite. This place would not be what it is quoit you and the rest of the bunch here. Thanks to all of you as well!

Thanks Skip! now to move on to the 60s build, everybodys so far ahead of me! lol You're not alone being behind on the 60's build. All I have is parts laid out and I still need to finish the build for this contest in the next few days.

Thanks Bloodbane! I researched the car on the internet to learn some facts about it, then watched the movie a few times and made note of some of the details. Then tried to duplicate as many of the features on the 1:1 car into the model as I could. It really means a lot to me when people notice the effort involved! high-five-smiley-emoticon

You really did a fine job replicating the real thing Alan. The engine looks EXACT! Fine interior details. That second picture looks like the real thing sitting in the garage! Very good build! hand-clapping-smiley-emoticon praising-the-lord-smiley-emoticon
