Okay, studying the truck a little more tonight I learned all about her. She was bought new buy a volunteer fire dept. to be used as an equipment truck. Later her bed was removed and a small tank installed so she could be used for brush fires that the big firetruck couldn't get to. Once her service to the community was up, she was sold to a plumbing company who used her as a septic pumping truck. It wasn't long before this company went belly up and she went up on the action block. An enterprising young man won her and promptly cut open the smelly old tank and hid a smaller (clean) tank inside and did indeed use her to haul his moonshine! This worked out a few years until he thought the local revenuers were beginning to get wise to him, so he parked the truck in his barn and forgot about it. Years pasted before the truck was found again. This time by a hot rodder who was looking for a unique project...to be contuniued.

This sounds like it's going to have just layers of history within the paint alone. Can't wait for more progress. Nice touch with the story AK.

Hey Guys, I haven't made much progress on my e-bay build due to the Holidays, work, family, and friends. But I did manage to get some primer on it today, I still need to finish up a little body work so I couldn't get any color on it. And the plan is finalized, so no more deciding which way to go with it! Nore coming soon! ALan

AK this is great! What I really love is the story you've told. I think that's such a unique idea to come up with a history for her, and taking us through the roads she's traveled and the body shops she's seen. This one is going to be a real treat! And the story just makes this one that much more special! Thanks for sharing this! LOVE the idea! (The moonshine part was cool too. )

Thanks Schwack, I hope I haven't built up the story too much. I would hate for anyone to be disappointed in the actual model! Anyway, pictures of it are posted in the completed section. I didn't think that depicting her life through peeling paint wouldn't generate any more funds for this site, so I left it as an old fire truck hot rod with a patina finish!
