Not familiar with RC, other than by name. I don't do blues, other than the occasional remake of "little wing" by SRV. I guess that's more Tex-Mex. I find facts like Alan Holdsworth (think it was him) played with Zappa. Or Fripp and the synth guy taking pot shots at each other on album liner notes. I was pretty much AM/FM, from early days of Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes (look that one up!), through Airplane and Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, then the OZ, Deep Purple and a lot of albums. MTV came along with the 80's Euro rock (Berlin, etc.) I stubbornly stuck to mega concerts with Cheap Trick, KISS, Blue Oyster Cult, REO. Missed the grunge days, Caught Ozzy just before Randy Rhoads died and watched hair bands fade into the sunlight. Along came EMO, the screamo-EMO and Metallica. Then just plain ugly skinhead metal like Slayer.
If I could really play guitar, I'd like a mixture of Steve Via, Michael Angelo Batio and the late Randy Rhoads RIP. I don't think there's a single style they couldn't emulate!

I run a broad range of music, I can go from tony Bennett to metallica and think nothing of it, lol. if you ever see them at a music/dvd store, look for 'crossroads guitar festival' dvd's. it's a show put on by eric Clapton, fantastic dvd's with a broad range of musicians, pretty well rocks out.

Yah, Tim - I love Cream and early Clapton. I try to keep up with Crossroads, White Room, Badge and others just for his style of rock/blues. What a huge sound for a trio! Wish I still had my real Gibson Les Paul; I got rid of it for a Stratocaster with a hopped up tremelo system and a pick-up set modeled after Paul Gilbert. They're humbucking pups but look like single coil.
