Been doing a little work on this while waiting for glue to set on the 70's build. It's the revell 50 ford custom truck and I am using Franks builds as the inspiration, in particular his nascar truck. So far it has been mostly body work but I have zee'd the chassis. I've gone for a smooth modern look on it, with the spoiler from a alfa race car in place of the front bumper and a might add a spoiler to the back too. The engine is from the willys street rod kit and the wheels are fujimi bbs 18's so probably about 20's since I'm using them on the smaller scale. I will be doing some more to the bed floor so it will sit lower at the back. I have to say that this kit doesn't have very good fit on the parts, the hood only fits on one side and the bed is set off to the drivers side of the cab by a couple of mm and the interior back doesn't touch the cab back

I remember that Nastruck Frank built, it was an awesome build! That front end treatment is very fitting! I love the stance and that big bad old style hemi fits it perfectly!

Got all the big parts primed tonight, The hood will need a bit more primer after wet and dry though, but the rest seems ok. I also made a bed cover as I decided the fuel tank was too big so have another plan for that now.

Got some painting done today, need to do some more flatting on the hood and cab though, but the fenders, firewall , chassis and interior bits are done. The colour is inbetween the 2 pics but will have to wait for daylight for it. The inside is the red on the back of the firewall and the chassis is just satin black'

She's on her wheels with just the drive shaft, radiator pipes, gearbox crossmember and exhausts to fit. Getting the cab on was a chore as it didn't want to go over the interior tub so I chopped away a section from the front so it would sit down where it should. I used some strips of masking tape on the inside of the cab doors to give me something to pull the edges out as I was pressing it down too.

I'm a fool, I managed to put the front axle on backwards and cant risk taking it off as the springs have been thinned a bit to lower the front more, I guess that'll teach me to read the instructions next time forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

Done that a few times too, I usually just cut it above the axle a hope it's hidden, lol

Definitely love that silver, and who cares if something is backwards, or something is chopped and hidden. Bottom line is this is an awesome build, one to be proud of man - OUTSTANDING!!!

Very cool build. Great color choices. Too bad about axle; can you add a small block to the springs if something breaks?
