Hi just when my missus needs my support I let her down.
Today at work I was taking the Dec's down and I torn my calf muscle ( I was only stepping down from the ladder ) now I can barely walk and we will need to drive to Scotland in the next few days for the funeral. I am such a useless idiot.

Lots of ibuprofen, heating pad, and rest it when you can in the evenings. Propped up preferably. Oh, and a bowl of ice cream never hurts. I am sure the misses understands, like Les said, it's not like you did this on purpose. Smile the best you can, keep hugging often, and you will get through it sir.

Apparently I've partially torn the gastrocnemius muscle, lucky as if I had torn it completely would be a hospital job, have to see a physio (lucky my daughter in law is one) so not as bad as first thought (supposed to rest it but my boss wouldn't like that)(what with wanting time off for a funeral too)

Well, I say who cares what the boss thinks. If it is not that he is pissed about, it will be something else. The way I see it, a person's health and well being far outweighs any job. I kind of learned that as a truck driver, always told myself - "There is no load that's worth my life". And that pretty much holds true to anything. If you do not have your health, nothing else really matters.
Now, get that leg propped up! Quit sitting at a desk typing!!  |
