I would love to enter but the shipping would probably destroy it. The postie's this side of the pond aren't the most careful with parcels. I will be following though to see all the variations you guys can think of.

Has anybody else been asked to front 25.00 first time entry, and if so how come its not in the rules? second post, because the first was deleted, and may in the rules now. I thought I had already addressed this through the PM you sent me. I'd be happy to re-explain everything to you and I'll go further into detail in case you are still having a difficult time understanding our decision. When this contest first started it was by invite only. We included folks that were participating often. Posting, building and sharing consistently. All of those people entered different contest and abided by rules. Last year we decided to open this up to everyone. Folks read the rules. The first time around Beast and I paid for the kits out of our pocket. Members paid for shipping both ways and as the rules still explain now, there was a fee involved if they couldn't complete the project. This was done for two reason. First, it sucks to provide a it, as expensive as they are and for someone to just feel they have the right to take advantage of us. Second, the purpose of this contest is to create funds for the club. Although we have great members that donate, there are other contests for which we provide prizes for. Most of the time, they come from this fund. The eBay contest has been paying for itself since it started. We ran into a few hiccups with some members when some wouldn't pay the fee. Fine. Our loss. Live and learn. This year we decided to open it up again to all members with the following line in the rules: "Beast and IceMan, reserve the right to decline any member's participation before it begins. Will be decided on a case by case basis." Now when you asked to partake in this coming years contest, I thought to myself, "I've never seen a completed build from Michael." I even poked fun at you saying how it seemed to be a challenge for you. But instead of just denying you the opportunity to play in the sandbox with the rest, I figured out a workaround. Pay the fee in advance and when you send the completed kit back, I would send you the money right back. I thought it was pretty fair. I don't think you agree with that. However, I would not allow you or any other new or non-participating member to come on here and take a kit from us, as many members here have helped create and maintain the fund for the club. So with that being said, We'd love to have you join us in this years contest, Michael. Your in progress work is pretty amazing to me personally. Since it seems like a challenge for you to finish kits poke And I've never seen a competed build from you here or in any other forum we share, I'm going to ask that you pay the fee upfront. This is just to protect us from being taken advantage of. I hope you don't take offense to that. When the deadline comes in March and you return the completed build, I'll send your money back right away. Let me know if you decide to join.

Can't be more fairer than that I think Iceman. Myself would love to do it too, but I am the same as Stitch, there is no way a completed build would ever make it back to you in 1 piece, also last time I sent something to the US, it took 4 days to get there, then another 3 weeks to get delivered, so I would have to really hustle to have it back on time, and still in pieces. I WILL find other ways of helping out though.

Dale, you crack me up bud!
I thought about just paying the extra $25 up front, but I do plan on finishing, and if I did get it back to Joel in time the club could just keep it as a donation.

Don't give up before you start. I really think you guys will like the kit. Challenging enough, yet lots of fun.

Say I had a 56 nomad kit, could I possibly use that body or a resin body of I wanted? If not I'll just start cutting and combine the 2 lol.

Replacing the body changes the kit entirely so that is not allowed. You can however modify the body yourself. Think back to GP's nova build. Tons of alterations to the body but he didn't replace it. It would defeat the purpose of the challenge.
