This is what I'll be working on
Box Art
Parts count
and 4 chrome tree's
Kit looks good with out much flash but I did notice the front fenders are warped so I'll have to straighten them out.
Have it pretty much figured out as far as the build goes, box stock with some detailing and then go from their smiley-greet016

Excellent choice, John. The first hot rod. I figured we'd see a couple of these.

i've never seen one of these built before popcorn-and-drink-smiley-emoticon what is the quality like thus far? I'd say the quality is real good, has some normal plastic warp except for the front fenders but nothing that can't be corrected, we'll see what the fit issues are thou smiley-greet016

Hi gang, well I got the engine done finally when I get the engine installed and the body on then I'll put a fuel block on the firewall and hook up the fuel lines. This is not an easy kit, lots of fit issues and I almost threw it a couple of times but I took a break and started on it again. The rear end which is a B....ear to put in, you have to put the shocks on first and then the housing and try to get it lined up while the glue is drying. When I got it where I wanted it I put some super glue on the joints for strength here is what she looks like with the rear wheel on Been fighting with the front end to get it straight and with the wheels straight up and down. Opened the lower arm hole to make it adjustable with out a lot of sanding. The font end is make to be moveable but not any more. here is a pict. of the backing plate with the hole opened for the lower arm That's all for now, going to get the front end done and put her up on all four's and up date soon smiley-greet016

If I get this done by the end of Sept. I will be happy and might not even care what it looks like I was working on the paint finish and some how cracked the right rear fender ( Didn't throw it either ) so put it in the pond to strip it then repair the fender and start over on the paint smiley-confused005 Working on the chassis a little and will have picts soon smiley-greet016

Here is the crack on the right rear fender and inner panel Haven't a clue as to what caused it but it's their and gotta fix it or make it fender less smiley-confused005 If you look at the crack you'll notice that it is a straight break, angled but no rough edges. So I think either that was a weak spot or a stress point in the plastic that popped the plastic, I'll see what I can do to repair it and if not I'll cut the fenders and running boards off and go that way thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon Till next time smiley-greet016

You were not kidding it cracked! WOW forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon But for sure i think you are right, for it to be that straight - must have been something in the plastic forming. No fenders would be cool though - if you need to go that way

Benn working on this ...... and here is where I'm at Glued the crack on the inside of the fender well and put a .040 X .100 strip over it for support and clamped it tight While that was drying I did the frt suspt, got the wheels just white glued on for right now to check the front alignment and it's up on all fours and with the engine setting in the frame and by the time I got this done the crack was dry enough to stay together with out the clamp so I did a stance check I don't think the stance looks too far off, may be a little high in the rear end but not much, but the clamp back on the crack just for giggles and for it to dry over night Going to see what else I can get done like the door hinges, wind shield support, etc, etc. Thanks for looking and I'll up date when I get more done smiley-greet016

Thanks for all the nice comments CC & Big D, I need all the support on this one I can get high-five-smiley-emoticon Got the body all ready last night for first primer, fired up the AB this morning and primed it, let it dry, checked it over and impatient-smiley-emoticon and found another crack on the front part of the fender it is just on the fender and looks like an easy fix, at least I don't have to strip it again. While I had the AB out I painted the seats and dash. Here are a couple of picts. of the rear rumble seat top and the rumble seat cover What do you guys think about the color combo ?? Does the int green need to be a little darker or what ?? The side panels are white and the dash face is going to be wood grain I hope. Going to fix the new crack and primer that section and see what happens next, I want to get this $*%@ painted by next week end, I getting tired of working on this RED HEADED STEP CHILD smiley-greet016

I like the interior seat pad color
I may have went with an off white, since you said the side panels will be white, but it is a good match to that awesome body color you have!
