I agree. Did you see in the Dodge Trucks search on Ebay a guy has a listing of a super rare and very hard to find 79 D series grille and the opening bid is $9,999.99. No kidding! This is the opening bid. I had to look at it several times. He does have an offer button so im sure he has a number in his head way far from the opening price but this is crazy!!

I'm with you Joe Cool, they are meant to be built, i don't care how much a kit is worth, or how rare it is, i would build it..! Some people who part out kits for silly money, are not modelers in my opinion, they are bottom dwellers, trying to feed off those who do build..
BUT, those who are willing to part out a kit to HELP modelers, for a few bucks profit here and there, well, i have nothing against those people.

I'm not sure anymore but I think I have around 800 kits in my stash now and I intend to build everyone of them and some of them are very serious collectibles. I knew that when I bought them but I bought them to build. Modeling is all I have left I can do now and I love it. I also look at them as an investment. Of all the models I have I have only paid what I would call "Full Price" for maybe a dozen of them. Most of what I have is worth 3 or 4 or 5 times more now than what I paid for them. If I cool out before my wife does she can sell them for a decent profit. BUT I plan to build everyone of them and if I don't get to my wife will find me face down on the bench one morning. I also have no use for the ones who are in modeling just for profit. There is one seller on Ebay who goes by "PJ's Toys" and he is crazy and definately in it for the money. I know others who sell new, or like new, parts for a small profit and are builders themselves. You can contact them and they will even try to find a part for you. I'm all for these people they are an asset to our hobby.
