As a few of you know, I kind of up and disappeared the last few months. NOT COMPLETELY MY FAULT - I REPEAT - NOT COMPLETELY MY FAULT, lol
Anyways, I thought I should explain what has happened, at least a little bit....
After Christmas, I was sent traveling the country for most of January, visiting our accounts we deliver to. With the gas down slide, and subsequent up slide lately, we have had our hands full, to say the least, keeping the 120 trucks we have rolling and busy. While I was away in January, the wife decided to change my weight / exercise room into our new hobby room. Needless to say I was not real thrilled to get home and find my desk and all the stuff in my little working area basically thrown into a couple large totes. I have yet to get myself organized to start building again, but I hope too soon. I never even touched the whole Secret Santa kit I was sent. In fact, I believe that was about the last time I was online at the club.
Since I have been back, work has pretty much taken over, and with the wife moving my hobby area on me, I just kind of stepped away from the hobby you could say. Since I have not touched anything, I really didn't think to log back into the club, I mean, it is a "Builders Club", Lol - and since I have only been buying, well, you know what I mean.
And Then.............
Big D reached out to me on eBay, and it made me realize, what the hell!! I MISS YOU GUYS MAN!!! Lol
Iceman gave me some words of wisdom, Ice is so much wiser than his years!!
Hemi - you rock, thank you! And don't you slow down on me bud!
DeeCee - what can I say, thanks man. You are freakin AWESOME!!! Totally freakin AWESOME - and I don't care if I have to drink a beer a 8am, we MUST drink a spuds together someday!
Feels so strange to be missed, and yet I know the feeling because I missed everyone here. I can tend to let work get the best of me, but I am trying to remember that if I don't stop and enjoy life, life may be gone before I enjoyed it. The weather in February was, well, to say the least, EXTREMELY CRAPPY, so that didn't help. BUT, I did become a grandpa yet again, the first week of February, my youngest daughter Tia had a beautiful little girl. We got rid of the Honda Pilot and got the wife an H3 Hummer. Not sure why I went through with this, as I am still a little upset with what she did to my hobby desk and corner, but oh well, I am starting to try and put it back together so I can again start building with you guys.
Here are a few pics of before and after of my modeling area. Honestly, the move will probably be better - I do have a lot more room now
These were taken shortly after I joined the club last year, right about this time I think, holy crap, could it have been a year already?
Not sure, but this "WAS" my little corner of solitude
NOW - this room has been changed into the exercise room, with my Bowflex, etc.
I still have yet to get my shelves out, notice the shelf with the paints - gonna get this moved tomorrow
This is the tote - where everything from the walls, my desk, shelves, etc was put. This is the tote I found after I got back off the road.
This kind of upset me..........
But I am approaching it all as a "New Beginning"
I have started to put all my open kits in the clear smaller totes - HOLY CRAP, I have a lot!! LOL - 44 in all I think, just in those clear totes
Floor to ceiling, (2) towers. This does not even approach the hundreds of sealed kits I have. But I got the lamp hung above the desk, and I will actually have another desk on the adjoining wall to work from. One desk I will use for starting and gluing etc, the other for decals / paint and finalizing - "I think" Lol!!
So again, I apologize for my absence, but look out now my plastic fiend friends!!! - I AM BACK!!!!
