I'm going to jump in on this one. Going with a Tamiya kit. i've been waiting to put this kit together so good time to do that. I didnt spend too much time at the bench this wekeend but I did manage to prep the body. I want to paint it before I travel for work on Wednesday morning. Hope to spray some color tonight. I have an idea on how this will go. Nothing too fancy but should look fast....and maybe a little bit furious. greensmilies-018

HOLLY SNAP!! That color looks great on possibly the best Supra shape they produced. Can't wait to see how this one will look, the right wheels will make it really look fast.

Dats purdy Ice!
That blue looks awesome. I agree with Dale, the right wheels and maybe a turbo or 2 won't hurt either to make it look fast.......BUT it be fast!

Looking sweet. Like that blue you put on it. Really interested in seeing what you do with this, as I have had this kit sitting on the shelf for about twelve years now. I have thought about building it a couple of times, but never committed to it yet. I actually bought it for three dimensional reference to build molds for a Supra golf car body.

Skippy, Let me get this straight, you bought the model, to use to get dimensions from to build a body to a Golf Cart? A real Goft Cart? IF thats right and I have the right idea, that really kool! A 1:1 scale model thats on a Goft Cart frame...........
Ice, that car I hope has a GREAT engine in it, as I've seen a few video's of this type car and the motor in them even a 4 cylinder is a nassy one!
The paint you've done looks to justify the whole model tho, GREAT work!
The whole "newer" car thing has a little interest and a lot of yet to know info on them for me, I'ma big Muscle Car era kinda guy so.....The body tho, looks GREAT!

The golf car body has to be to scale for the golf car chassis though, so it isn't a full size Supra and you kind of have to fudge the dimensions a bit because proportions are different too. Toyota refused licensing for it in the end and I had to modify it a little to appease them. I also did a HumVee and a Cadillac CTS, we had about a dozen or so different bodies we manufactured.

Thanks John, Skip, Paul and Frank. The chassis is almost done. Plans were to have a red body but didn't find a red I liked for this body so I changed that. Had to finish the Bova so this one was sidelined til now. Plus I don't think I have the time to change it up having only one weekend left this month. Interior is drying so that should be coming next.

Chassis being red is kind of cool. Like it was originally red from the factory, but somebody repainted it blue...Maybe you could type up a story to go along with the car....just a thought. It's looking good Iceman!

Thats a pretty good idea, but. I'll see if I can come up with something for the completed post. I did work on this last night for 3 straight hours. I wsa hoping I could finish it last night, and although very close, still needs some finishing touches. Should be able to make it to the starting line by end of week. Here is last nights progress Finished up the interior. Went for the super clean look. NOS tank within arm's length for manual control of flow. Photo is not flipped. It is a right side dash. Finished up the engine adding some blue highlights. Decided to change the wheel. Going with some Volk Racing Wheels and tires by Fujim. A bit smaller but a racing wheel non the less. You can see the slight difference in size here. Had to modify the back of the wheels so they would fit flush. Here are the modified ones (left) vs the ones still needing work (right) Ready to be mounted. Worked on the lights. I love the way the taillights and headlights always fit so perfectly with this kits. The last collection of semi trucks that I bought included a lot of these resin/PW deflectors. I think they look great for cars. On all fours. Still needs some decals, side view mirrors and a little polish.
