Good morning guys
Just like to know youre thoughts on this. What do you guys think about building the rare kits? Do you have them in the stash, sitting proudly and basically gathering dust? or would you actually build them? I have a few rare car kits, and quite a lot of rare Protar Bike Kits and I intend to build every one of them.
What do you guys think?
Steve

I've had them and never could bring myself to open them. I sold them because of not being a collector. I'm a builder first

I build and collect them. I love seeing them built as collected. examples.. Uncertain T built, One arm bandit, Rattler, Lil roman chariot, Lil Cash box,to name a few. So build unless they are the last one still standing closed..

My sentiments exactly Junkman. Im in negs at the moment for a Rattler , someone here in SA. Have a couple of nice old kits in my Storage Locker, I must get out there and take some photo's. Also just bought the AMT 40 Willy's/32 Ford Sedan Trophy series Kit from a guy in Germany Steve

I say build them. That's what they were made for, to be built. Kind of like a car that can't be driven, totally useless if it isn't used for what it was meant for. Yes, to some "collectors" I am an infidel.

I agree totally Gardenerpag. I see little point having 50 models in a cupboard that you are too scared to open, but want to build soooo bad. Buy, build and enjoy

Build them all!!!

Kinda depends on profit margin. I got an original Tassca Mustang kit sealed from the 70's for 5.00 and sold it on the Bay for 175.00. If there's a big margin or potentially big margin I save em and sell em. The rest go to the building pile.

If money isn't an issue (don't NEED to sell some to get the $$), and if you have the desire to build a few, then do it. Your skills are likely as good as they'll ever be and if there's time to do them, you indeed must. Thanx for an interesting question!
