Untitled by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr Untitled by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr That's the coil and air cleaner I have for my 1:1 rat rod and need some 1/25 scale ones for the copy I'm building lol. Thanks for any help guys!

This is the air cleaner out of the 65 Ford kit as far as the coil , they are so small you could make one out of a piece of parts spru the kit parts come on . I also have a xtra 57 Ford Custom engine if your interested just PM me .

Thanks guys, Paul I got replacement parts from revell to replace my poorly molded ones so I'm good on the engine, I do appreciate the offer though. After some googleing I found an air cleaner that's a little closer. Untitled by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr Its from the revell '62 impala 2n1

I'll take the full scale version LOL. I was just thinking that coil looks a lot like a rear coilover from one of my prostock/promod kits with a 4 link. Small part, but beautiful!

JBailey and Mitch i had an idea...what if you got a couple different size hole punches and then punched a bunch of discs in the two sizes. next just glue the discs together while alternating the two sizes. couple little pieces of aluminum tubing and a top of a coil, throw some alcad or bmf on it and WALA! got ur coil and the means to make many more

Knarf, that's probably what I'll do. My dad has a leather punch with the rotating head with multiple sizes on it. I did find some finned coils at "The Parts Box" but to pricey for me lol.

I'll get the hole punch this weekend and if it works I'll take some pics and post in the how to section. If it doesn't work or not very well, I'll move onto the next idea lol.
Another question... does anyone know of a nicely detailed/accurate 394 olds engine, either from a kit or resin?

Wow! Very creative guys! My idea of a coil over wouldn't work as I thought of it since the spring is angled around the shock. A hole punch definitely would work and allow 2 different sizes very accurately. As for an engine, I've seen Revell with complete chrome build packs for Chevy 283, Pontiac 421 and Caddy 354. All 3 kits for around $11-15.00 Hope that might give some help!

Thanks Mitch, I've seen those on eBay quite a bit. I'm wanting to replicate this car using the rpu body from the rat rod kit I got the other day, of course in this pic its just mocked up. Untitled by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr If I have to I'll settle for a 455 lol. Here's a link with the build thread of the rpu, I don't know if you have to register to see the pics or not. www.ratrodsrule.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20556

Does the part you're looking for come in one of hose Revell engine packs? I have many of those so I can send you the part.

How about the engine from the Revell '50 Olds Custom kit. I believe it has an Olds V8 with a 3x2bbl carb set up. The 394 is a first generation V8, and they are visually the same, regardless of bore and stroke, from '49 until I think '63 or '64. The Revell kit number should be 85-4022.

Bailey, Now that is a cool ride for sure.. Love the tub bodied cars. The one we built was a 27 touring body cut down. I will dig through the stash and see what all engines I have. I have alot of vintage hearts..

Thanks Junkman, that one is a cut down Ford Fordor sedan and is just an awesome build. I don't know if the link works for you guys, but he is getting the frame and suspension powder coated now for final assembly and its beautiful, off white suspension and satin black rails. Iceman, I almost missed your comment. I'm not sure what comes in the revell part pack engine kits.

After posting this question on another site, I think I'm gonna get the '50 olds rocket motor and just use it(and maybe change it to resemble the 394). So know I just have to wait and get another kit for parts lol.
