okies folks...started layin down the first color coat on the body. this is the basecoat for the second color but also the final color for the top half. bet you guys are wondering about sponsorship...haven't landed the proper deal yet, but it'll be retro

woohoo...2 updates in one day the bodywork on the cab is lookin pretty right to my eye(still need to putty/sand the headlight area and i'm just completely blank on what to do with the grill area, right now i'm leaning towards the stock piece painted body color even tho to my eye it's just not "right" *shrugs*

okies folks...last update for this day did a little assembly and decal work done and it's mostly done. the only hold up being some body work on the front end of the cab and then paint/decals on the entire cab.

let's start with the goodyear tire decals...as anyone who has built any number of older nascar kits knows, these dadblame things just look terrible

so i'm lookin at it and i said to myself, i said "self, what do we have that would seep under them decals and form a "wet-ish" type finish while drying clear?" i then replied "well self, what if we mixed these two together in a 50/50-ish mixture

until it looked like this

and then poked some holes in the decal to aid seep-age and brushed that on?" hmmm...that's worth a try and i this result

and the assembly went this way


and finally the rest of the decal work
