Nice!! I as well have this one ready to attack. I am doing the older kit though. Not sure if I will go purple or not yet, thinking I will. But I will be following yours for sure....

Awesome tip, thank you. For sure, these were at an angle on the real cars. You going with flat black elephant ears?

Actually I'm going to go with this style...entire air cleaner black. And black interior, natch.

Also, glue the front valance on right away, fill the seams on the sides, and rescribe the correct seams along the front. Look at your ragtop pic for reference.

Good idea...thanks. And did I say purple? I meant green. I'm going to hold off on body painting until I get the PE kit I ordered, in case I have to remove some of the molded in details.

Nice. I could've used some hoods pins a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait to see this come together.

WOW!! There is a TON of stuff on this. Was this the model car garage set? I am definitely wanting this YUp, Model Car Garage. This set is relatively spendy at $17. That's more than I paid for the kit itself using a 40% off coupon at Michaels. Has more stuff than their usual sets though.

This is the PE fan. What do you think? Leave it as is? Paint it? Toss it?

I like that PE fan, maybe I would darken it up, say with some Tamiya smoke or something. Not quite painted, but darker

Looks great. Will you need to modify the radiator if you use it?

Engine's done. Decided to go with the PE fan as is. Joel, there's no need for any modifications. In fact, I should have put a bit of a spacer between the timing chain cover and the fan, but I don't want to try and remove it now...those PE parts are real delicate. Next step is to decide which of the other PE parts I want to use, which will determine whether or not I need to remove any of the molded in details. I have to say that the molded in details on this kit are the best I've seen. I'll probably keep the molded in hood pins instead of using the PE ones.

Nice! Are you still going to bend the blades? Love the detail so far. If the pins are molded in, I agree that you should leave them. The special edition Revell has them as separate pieces. I bet they look great. Great job so far.

Looking for examples of car mats I found this site... Auto mat imagesClick on one of the samples and then click on "Customize It". You can choose a rear or front mat and change colors, lettering, etc. Take a screen shot, crop and size it in your graphics editing program, and print. Viola! I printed these on heavy paper. I have some of that printable fabric on order. The fabric part of the seat belts if from Model Car Garage. Cost is about $4 for enough to do five cars. Easier than cutting and painting masking tape, which is what I had been doing. They send assorted colors. I'm going to email them and ask if I can choose the colors.
