A man of your talent and skill shouldn't need directions mate....... Looking good too, i like the dark blue cage against the lighter petty blue body. smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f

I wish I didn't need directions, BUT, I am used to being directed, so when there are no directions to direct me, I feel un-directed

Need some opinions if I could......
Once I get back to this build this weekend, I do want to get the body wrapped up if possible. My dilemma......
I "was" thinking to simply hand paint the window trim and body stuff with aluminum paint form the jar, so I could get the decals on and clear coat. BUT, I am now considering using a "Matte Aluminum" BMF - thoughts anyone?

Went ahead and hand painted all the side, front and rear window trim. Decals applied, even threw the decals on the chrome. Also "aluminized" the grill area on the chrome. Those pics will be in the finals pics. Light poilsh, and clear coat tomorrow, then back to the nuts and guts of the build...

Body is cleared, awaiting polishing. Been slapping this thing together to move it off the bench. NOT impressed with this kit. Parts numbered / labeled wrong, the headers were molded backwards - BACKWARDS!!! As in, I had to mix them just to get them to look somewhat correct. Front suspension and shocks - SUCK - they do not even attach to anything! This is the type of a kit that if a youngster got, it would throw him out of the hobby. Now I am not saying I do not like a challenge, I do, but I can honestly say this molding, directions, etc are the WORST in the history of plastic. I am so dis-disgruntled with Polar Lights right now, that I may just put ALL my Polar Lights up for sale. This is seriously sad and ridiculous. I promise all of you, I will start a Revell NASCAR kit, those are CORRECT and AWESOME. (Thinking to do another Kevin Harvick build, Rookie car, but with the Black Numbers - Slixx decals I have) Anyways, thank you for letting me vent..... Here is where we stand, engine is, front suspension, (if you want to call it that), is in. Will add LOTS of glue to it, paint over the glue and call it good. At least the paint and decals look ok - geesh!

I just got a polar light mustang funny car in the lot from Ice, haven't had a close look at it yet but will do now. It has some cool wheel options in it though. I think it was 4 different styles with pretty decent molding but that's as far as I got looking.

I will get a picture posted tonight of what I did to this build this morning before work. All the rumors are true, the front end indeed curves up!
I cut and shaved what I could, glue bombed the side rails of the engine compartment, and used a wicked, tension clip on the whole front end to try and squish this P.O.S together
Then I walked away, with a $#!t eating evil grin. When I get home, it will either have cracked and be crunched, or it will stay together smiley-confused005
Either way..... the engine went crooked on me The front windshield will NOT stay in The rear trunk valance of the roll cage is now loose , (this will require glass bottle boat building skills to re-glue) The tires keep coming off the rims The bits from the undies keep falling offsmiley-scared002
No worries though , ALL can be repaired / masked over for final pictures egyptian
I honestly would not mind finding this thing crunched, cracked and broken tonight, kind of fitting for the P.O.S kit it is I could then do a quick turn around of a wrecked build I am serious when I say, this clamp I put on it, it was WAY tight and squishing the front end together like I have never done before smileyCAELY0UD_zps3cc8a166
Honestly, it was an awesome and a very therapeutically feeling.... We will see tonight what lies in store for one of the worst kits of all time..... hehehe....

Got home, still felt great seeing this thing being crunched, so I will check it after volleyball later tonight. Anybody know a good way to crinkle the front end, like it hit the wall? I am really kind of liking that idea! LOL

Just a small update - probably the last - hoping to be taking finished thread pics this weekend. The "SUPER SMUNCH & CRUNCH" seemed to work. Front end still curls up slightly, gonna have to live with that. But I do believe the body is down on the rails. Twisted and re-positioned the engine back down as best could be done. Test fitted the hood, it now clears and sits nice, definitely a closed coffin, hood shut in the case display car! Fallen off shock repaired, undies parts back on, did the (boat in a glass bottle) thing, and believe it or not, coming through the lower back with tweezers, and through the passenger window with the butt end of a paint brush, at the same time, AND with a heavily glued trunk shroud, the rear valance is back in place. The two tires that came off are back on the rims, and the windshield is back in, and drying. May need to try and do something with the top edge of the windshield - nah! LOL Should have front and rear bumpers on tomorrow night, then final pics.
SAVED / SALVAGED and soon to be COMPLETED - I hope! forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon

Thank you Paul, I really do appreciate that!
ok-ok, I know I said there would be no more pics until the finished thread - BUT........... It felt good knowing this build will look half descent after all, so I snapped a few pics this morning. Just need some bumpers, touch up, and a splash of gas for the final laps!!
You can definitely see the twisted, uprising of the front end in this second picture. Shame Polar Lights did such a crappy job for "The King"

Isn't that the side that lifts due to torque twist mate?? You could just say it is soooo powerful, it is lifting on its own.. But there is only one hole in that theory, it's a FORD... running-around-smiley-emoticon Looking good though mate, everything you have done, has turned out great, pity the professionals screwed it up . Looking forward to the finished pics Tom.
