This is too cool Frank. Building the pedals for this is over the top too. Can't wait to see this little project finished.

Frank, What in the world is the story behind that Ford to the side of the building? ? The tires an wheels look VERY interesting for a monster truck/mudder modeler like myself!? Altho it looks as tho on tire is flat but thats easily fixed! The peddle car looks awesome! I'll be looking over in the finished cars area!

John that old ford is an original amt Destroyer that i got in a junkyard lot from ebay. i used it to try an extremely authentic rusting process i dreamed up, i thought i had put a thread up here but apparently not. i'll get on that shortly. the tires were cast by a member here(although i met him on FB) mark. they are replicas of "transport" tires as used when the monster goes in the trailer. i purposely flattened one of them.

I like the way the hood turned out on the ford! That rust job looks GREAT! For what can be seen from the above pictures!
The tires however are interesting.... love the way you purposely flattened one of them! BUT how'd you get the rear to sit, as tho both were pumped up? With the one flat in the front. INTERESTING!

John-the axles aren't all the way into the springs in spots, the springs themselves are not all mounted to the frame the same and the frame is twisted(came that way). plus the body isn't attached, it just sits there. if you want a close-up of the rust, there's one in my gallery. and i DARE you to figure out the rusting method i used thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon if anyone else knows...

Frank I went and looked in your Gallery at the rusting look you did. I'm not into weathering yet but I have studied it some because it's a modeling technique and there are always tips and tricks in other techniques that can help me with my style. When I was a professional musician I played all kinds of music even when I didn't like it because of the different styles that could help me. I said all that to say your weathering method, whatever it is, is the best I've seen anywhere. It doesn't get any more real than that.

I just looked at the thread and I don't know if that technique is something you learned or thought up yourself and it doesn't matter, I think it is pure genius! I haven't studied weathering that much and I've heard of "the salt method" although I don't know how to use it, but I've never heard or seen making rust on a model with iron filings but being extremely familiar with metal shavings I know it would be THE perfect method to use and you did it perfect Frank!

Dennis, i was just sittin and thinkin one day about rusting a model. and i said to myself,"self, what's the best way to rust?" to which i replied, "why real, actual metal of course!" end of discussion running-around-smiley-emoticon
