Hi All. Still plugin along :: Sanded body with 6000 after repaint-, was not happy with first paint..Its still sanded am going to wait to clear it after BMF and two tone is done. First a shot of BMF ( three hours worth 1st time with that stuff ) second a shot of the roughed second color.

looking good yes, BMF is tedious work and time just sails by as you're doing it [without even realizing it], but well worth the effort. keep plugging along, it's looking great!

Well - The seats are in the tank..after painting them there tow tone yesterday i got overzealous and untapped them to soon and had bleed through of the two colors---soooo strip and start over.. Played with BMF for hours and hours , had a H - - - of a time with it - not sure if it was me or the BMF -as it came off the backing looking like an accordion not smooth as I have seen pic's of some.. Gave it my best shot for now.. Feel i don't have the time left to play with it for now so -- went to painting Chrome ( old school ).. That is a little better than the BMF I have , but still a long process.. Have a pic all taped up ready for paint and then after paint..Should look OK after I clear everything, To me it will look better than the wrinkled BMF.. The body color is Model Masters as well as the chrome paint --just wondering about clear coat..if I can use Krylon or just stick with the model master clear ? Any thoughts on that ?? Here is a pic or two on chrome paint work.. Thanks Tom

Thanks Iceman.
I'm not sure if the foil was bad or not -- but it sure came off the backing funny (wrinkled). Do you think it is safe to use krylon for clear as how all other paint is MM and it does have some foil on it ?? Tom

I'm not sure on the clear. Best way to find out is test it on a scrap part. A plastic spoon even.

looking good! as for the clear, take a plastic spoon...prime and paint with same stuff you used on body, ad a strip of bmf, then clear the spoon and look for bad effects. that's what I do when in doubt, then I know all the stuff works together.

That's a pretty good job on the painted chrome mate. Looking great. Next attempt with the BMF, use a tooth pick, and cotton tip to smooth it out, works a treat mate. BMF has to be stored in a cool place and flat for it to keep nice.

DC Did the Toothpick -- Q tip -- and whatever I could find to smooth it out, just did not work very well.. Every time I went to take some foil off the backing it would come off wrinkled ( looked similar to a washboard ripply effect..Could not get it to lay down right..also was kept inside my Apt with AC on.. Will try again later on another build , cause my completion time is getting shorter for this contest as I am not the fastest builder here LOL...Thanks Tom

Hi All, Well time is shrinking for this contest. Had a small set back - I messed up some interior pieces and had to strip and repaint..Still need the second color on the seats but here is updated paint on Dash and Side Panels..If weather holds , I will clear the body today and finish up the seats - wish me luck LOL A pic of new interior paint.. Like the interior detail.
Remember to copy and paste the IMG codes one at a time for each pic.

Jbailey -Junkman - Doc O :
Thank You for the comments ,, means a lot...
Have to tone down the seats when I get the BMF on the Front one and finish the Rear one . am a little disappointed in not being able to achieve the BMF on the Body like i wanted to , as the Clear over the painted Chrome leaves a little to be desired ( as far as I'm concerned ) definatley work on my BMF skills ! ! ! .. As soon as I two tone the back seat I can go on to more detailing, as time is getting short. Especially for us S l o w guys.
